We are seeking a versatile Windows Administrator and Desktop Support Engineer to manage and maintain IT systems, provide robust desktop support, and ensure seamless operations across the organization. The role combines Windows system administration expertise with hands-on desktop support to resolve technical issues and optimize the end-user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows-based desktop systems (Windows 10/11, Server environments).
- Monitor and manage Windows servers, workstations, and related infrastructure.
- Ensure that desktop systems and applications are updated with the latest patches, security updates, and drivers.
- Manage Active Directory (AD) users and groups, including group policies and permissions.
- Provide timely and efficient support for end-users, troubleshooting Windows OS, desktop hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Resolve escalated technical support issues from the helpdesk or other teams.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex system and network issues.
- Perform system performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and configuration changes.
- Ensure system security by implementing and enforcing desktop security policies and managing antivirus software.
- Perform regular backups of critical data and system configurations, ensuring disaster recovery readiness.
- Manage user access and permissions in Active Directory, ensuring security best practices are followed.
- Create, modify, and delete user accounts based on company policies.
- Set up and configure new workstations for users, ensuring optimal system performance.
- Document system configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and troubleshooting steps.
- Maintain and update asset inventory for desktop systems and related components.
- Prepare and generate reports on system performance, user activity, and security updates.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of hands-on experience in Desktop/Windows System Engineering or Administration.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Windows operating systems (Windows 10, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022).
- Proficient in Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related networking technologies.
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Familiarity with desktop virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Strong experience with endpoint security solutions (anti-virus, firewalls, encryption).
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Intune, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), or similar tools.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or Desktop Administrator, or CompTIA A+.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting or automation for system management.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies and hybrid environments.
